Hello. I’m Naoko.
Thank you for visiting my blog- THE JAPAN SET.
I would like to share my passion – Japanese Food and Culture – with you all.
Over the years of working as an editor of a Japanese food magazine in Japan
and a freelance food journalist in London,
I have developed a great love for the wonderful joys of culinary delights, which we can all embrace.
I love visiting restaurants or staying at ryokan (Japanese style hotels) tasting beautiful dishes,
but more than that,
meeting the people behind the wonderful creations and finding out about their passions are what makes me genuinely excited and grateful.
Japanese food has many different dimensions in its cuisine styles and in the different regions.
This vast variety developed over the long period of time.
I hope I can pass on some of my knowledge,
my discoveries and exultation to you,
through my journey writing this blog.

THE JAPAN SET では、ロンドンから、日本の食や文化について、
英語で、海外へ向けて発信することを主軸に、
さまざまに綴っています。
日本の素晴らしき食、人、カルチャーを、
もっと、世界の多くの方々に知っていただきたい。
より深く知ることで、感激は、より大きくなる。
そんな想いで、発信しています。
日本の食が、海外で、どのように認識、受け入れられているかについては、
最初の渡英時から今に至るまで、さまざまな思いがあります。。
それゆえに、できる限り、丁寧に、深く。。。。
でも、一番忘れてはいけないキーワード
「外国の方に共感を持ってもらえる」
というアプローチを大切に、
日本の食や文化、
そして、何よりも、
それらをつくり上げ、発展し、支えている、
素晴らしき人々のことを伝えるべく
ていねいに、書き記していきたいと思っています。
THE JAPAN SET とは、日本をすきな人たち、という意味を込めた、ネーミングです。
今、世界が、地球が、多くの問題を抱える、激動の最中にある中、
皆さんと、より良き未来に向かって、
一緒に、日本と世界のコミュニティーをつくっていけると嬉しいです。
